We recently rode the 2022 KTM RC 390 at Bajaj’s Chakan-based test track. The bike has received a truckload of changes for its latest iteration including cosmetic as well as styling updates. But how have all the tweaks translated in the real world? Well, let’s find out through these detailed images.

KTM RC 390 Head Light
One of the most evident changes on the 2022 KTM RC390 is its fascia. The bike now gets a more conservative design than before. The twin projector lights have made way for a new LED setup topped by a large windscreen. The latter does a commendable job of deflecting the wind over the rider’s head while tucked in.

The riding position is pretty aggressive but not as demanding as the previous model’s. Moreover, the clip-ons can be lowered by 10mm which should aid in track riding. With that being said, the footpegs are high enough for the rider to have his/her knees fully folded.

The rider seat has enough room to move around and even slide back for a proper tucked-in position. With a kerb weight of 172kg, the 2022 RC 390 is still quite easy to steer around.

It packs the same 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder mill with the output rated at 42.9bhp and 37Nm. That said, the setup now benefits from a 40 per cent larger air box and a new radiator fan setup for better heat dissipation. The motor accelerates in a linear manner and is properly alive past the 6,000rpm mark.

The torque delivery too is pretty smooth and there’s no sudden surge like the older model’s tune. There’s enough torque around the mid-range for you to accelerate out of a corner even in a gear higher.

The 2022 RC 390 is easy to tip in the corners and flick from side to side as well. However, the Metzelers might leave you wanting a bit more grip around sharp turns.

The new braking setup provides enough bite and lets you brake harder without any signs of fading. This paired with the suspension setup makes the ride quite planted. The bike absorbed mid-corner bumps without upsetting the flow.

On the feature front, the 2022 RC 390 now gets a wide TFT along with Bluetooth connectivity. It’s also equipped with a quickshifter and features traction control too.

The asking price for the 2022 KTM RC 390 is set at Rs 3.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). So, should you buy it or not? Head to the first ride review and get your answer.
