Now, the Honda U-Go is already available in the Chinese market and it packs in decent features and performance. It is driven by a BLDC motor that gets two versions- 1200 watts and 800 watts. And it is powered by a removable 30Ah lithium-ion battery that offers a range of 75km on a single charge. Honda is also offering an extended range of 130km with its dual-battery pack. That said, the U-Go is capable of doing a decent top speed of 53kmph.

As for features, it gets LED DRLs and headlamp, and LCD instrument cluster, anti-theft alarm, USB charging and a 26-litre underseat storage that is massive on paper. But will it come to India? Well, it seems unlikely in the near future.

While Honda has plans to introduce electric two-wheelers in India, the filing of patents does not guarantee a launch always. However, the Japanese manufacturer is said to be testing out its battery swapping tech for its first electric scooter in India that is expected to run on the lines of the Activa.
