About Mercedes-Benz EQS

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the EQS, the brand’s first all-electric sedan in April this year. The model has already been listed on the company’s official website in India, hinting that the launch of the model could be right around the corner.

In terms of design, the new Mercedes-Benz EQS features a dual-tone theme where the top-portion of the sedan is finished in a shade of black. Up-front, the model features a clamshell bonnet, a grille that is designed to look flush with the headlamp, and aggressive air intakes on the bumper. The side profile gets large, multi-spoke alloy wheels, front door-mounted ORVMs, and a sloping roofline reminiscent of the CLS. At the posteriorrear, the EV receives a light strip running the width of the boot, with LED tail lights on either side. Also on offer is a dual-tone rear bumper with a diffuser-like design, and a boot-lip spoiler.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS, being the marquee’s first-ever all-electric car, marked the debut of the brand’s Hyperscreen. The latter is essentially a 56-inch display that runs across the width of the entire dashboard of the car. This display houses the driver instrument console, the touchscreen infotainment system, and a front passenger display. A few other notable features of the model’s interiors include a HEPA filter, a 710-watt, 15-speaker Burmester surround sound music system, and the signature MBUX connectivity with the ‘Hey Mercedes’ digital assistant.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS is expected to be offered in two variants upon launch, including the 450+ and 580 4Matic. The former is a rear-wheel-drive version producing 328bhp and 568Nm of torque, while the latter is a four-wheel-drive variant producing 516bhp and 855Nm of torque.
