About Volvo XC40 Recharge
The XC40 Recharge is an electric version of the XC40 SUV. And Volvo will launch its first-ever electric SUV in India during the third quarter of 2021.
The XC40 Recharge is identical to the standard XC40, except for the grille. Besides that, there are new Y-shaped DRLs with full-LED headlights. The lowermost part of the bumper is painted in black to resemble the black cladding around the vehicle. At the back, this electric Volvo bears the signature LED taillights.
The XC40 Recharge has a deluxe cabin with premium upholstery. There is a 12.3-inch fully digital driver display, a newly developed nine-inch tablet-style infotainment system in the XC40 Recharge which runs on an Android operating system. Thus it comes with built-in apps such as Google Assistant and Google Maps. This setup is also compatible with advanced driver assistance systems used by Volvo. Apart from that, Volvo offers a Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof and a hands-free boot opening.
Volvo has used the compact modular platform to accommodate two electric motors and a battery back instead of an internal combustion engine and transmission. The XC40 Recharge has a 78kWh battery pack that provides a WLTP certified range of 418km on a full charge. It generates 402bhp and 660Nm of torque. All the power is sent to all four wheels via two electric motors. A 150kW DC fast charger can recharge the battery from zero to 80 per cent in just 40 minutes while an 11kW charger takes about eight to ten hours to fully charge the battery.
