TVS-owned Norton Motorcycles launches the revised V4SV superbike
A couple of years ago, TVS acquired British two-wheeler manufacturer, Norton Motorcycles and has made quite some investments and logistic changes since then. Now, Norton has finally launched the V4SV superbike with some notable revisions on the mechanical front.

The Norton V4SV retains its slick and compact design. It boasts the same split LED headlight setup with curvy yet sharp lines on the bodywork. With that being said, the boffins at Norton have reworked the internals of the motor. The 1200cc V4 mill has been detuned and now makes less power than before in a bid to make it more road-going rather than a thoroughly track-bred bike.
The engine dishes out 185bhp and 125Nm and is nestled in a TIG-welded aluminum tube frame. It’s suspended on Ohlins NIX30 front forks and Ohlins TTXGP fully adjustable rear shock. The braking hardware comprises dual 330mm discs bitten by Brembo monobloc calipers at the front and a 245mm rear disc.

The V4SV rolls on either BST carbon fibre wheels or the OZ forged aluminum wheels, varying as per the model: Carbon or Manx Silver. Both models get the Dunlop Sportsmart hoops as the choice of rubber.
Backing all the firepower is the slew of electronics that Norton has employed on the revised V4SV. It gets three riding modes – Wet, road and sport – lean-angle sensitive traction control with a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), keyless ignition, and bi-directional quickshifter as well. All the parameters can be monitored using the 6-inch full-colour display.

In the UK, the Norton V4SV is priced at GBP 44,000 (approximately Rs 41.47 lakh excluding taxes). While there are other superbikes in India that retail at a similar asking price, the Norton V4SV is unlikely to be launched here anytime soon.
