Yamaha Aerox 155-based Nmax 155 updated for 2022 in Chin

Yamaha has bestowed its maxi-scooter, the Nmax 155, with a couple of updates for 2022 in China. This Aerox 155-based offering now gets more features and better hardware.

In what comes across as a superfluous move, the company has equipped the Nmax 155 with traction control system. Although this functionality isn’t very useful in such a small-capacity two-wheeler, it surely gives the owner some bragging rights. What’s sensible though is the introduction of a better suspension setup. Unlike its predecessor’s conventional dual springs at the rear, Yamaha has now incorporated gas-charged units with preload adjustability.

Powering the Nmax is the same 155cc, liquid-cooled engine that also does duty on the Aerox 155, YFZ R15 V4, and the MT 15. This VVA-equipped mill produces around 15bhp and 13.7Nm of peak torque. Some of the notable features in the Nmax include a USB charging port, Bluetooth connectivity, and dual-channel ABS.

Although Yamaha is unlikely to bring the Nmax 155 to India, the company sells the Aerox 155 here which is equally capable and enticing. However, those looking for cheaper options in the maxi-scooter category can look at the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 and the Aprilia SXR 125.
