Mercedes-Benz EQS Summary

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the EQS all-electric sedan last month. The model was recently listed on the brand’s website in India, hinting that the launch of the flagship luxury electric saloon could take place soon.

A rival to the likes of the Tesla Model S, the new Mercedes-Benz EQS is essentially longer, wider, and sportier than the S-Class it is based on. Design-wise, the model features a dual-tone paintjob with the top half finished in a shade of black. A few other notable highlights of the model include the design of the grille, which integrates with the headlamps, while also mounting an LED strip on top. The side profile receives large, multi-spoke alloy wheels along with the sloping roof-line as you move towards the rear. The posterior also features a similar lighting setup as the front, with the set of LED tail lights coming together with the help of an LED strip positioned on the bootlid.

The party trick of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQS is none other than the 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that makes its debut on this very model. These include three units that comprise an instrument console, infotainment system, and front passenger screen, each measuring 12.3-inches, 17.7-inches, and 12.3-inches respectively.

The India-spec Mercedes-Benz EQS will be offered in two variants that include the 450+ and the 580 4Matic variants. Powered by a 107.8kWh battery pack as standard, the former is capable of producing 328bhp and 568Nm of torque, while the latter is tuned to produce 516bhp and 855Nm of torque. The model can be charged via a 110kW DC fast charger, where charging from 10-80 per cent is said to take just 35 minutes. Under a full charge, the model is also claimed to return a range of 770kms.
