2022 Hero Xtreme 160R: Top 5 Highlights

Hero MotoCorp has updated Xtreme 160R for 2022 with new features. The updated motorcycle, similar to the 2021 version, is available in three variants and here we list the top five highlights of the 2022 Hero Xtreme 160R.

Updated Instrument Cluster

One of the biggest upgrades to the 2022 Hero Xtreme 160R is the addition of a gear position indicator to the instrument cluster. However, it still does not get Bluetooth connectivity. Otherwise, the console retains the same design and setup as the previous version. The inverted LCD console, which features five-step brightness adjustment, displays speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meters, and clock. The telltale indicators, too, remain unaltered.

Hardware

The hardware is identical to the 2021 version, and the latest iteration of the Xtreme 160R continues to use telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. The braking setup on the base version includes a disc at the front and a drum setup at the rear. The dual disc and Stealth variants, on the other hand, use single discs on both wheels. The only difference here is the addition of new pillion grab rails. Unlike the previous version which used rear-panel integrated pillion grab rails, the 2022 Xtreme 160R gets external units.

Same Design and Colours

The design remains unaltered and the 2022 Hero Xtreme 160R continues to use a single-pod headlight, a muscular design, side-slung exhaust, and alloy wheels. The motorcycle also uses a single-piece step-up seat, colour-matching front fender, and split-style alloy wheels. The single disc and dual disc variants of the Xtreme 160R are available in three colours – Pearl Silver White, Vibrant Blue, and Sports Red. The Stealth Edition, on the other hand, is available in a single paint option – Black.

Unaltered Specifications

The mechanical specifications remain unaltered and the 2022 Xtreme 160R continues to use a 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 15bhp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
