SYM, a Taiwanese two-wheeler manufacturer, has dropped its new MMBCU scooter in China. Interestingly, in terms of displacement and hardware, it sits quite close to the Yamaha Aerox 155 that’s available in India.

The highlight of the MMBCU is its futuristic and radical design which guarantees attention in abundance. The angular and sculpted front apron houses an LED headlamp at the centre which is flanked by sleek DRLs and faux air intakes. The chiselled and angular theme continues at the rear as well with a sharp tail section and split grab rails.

As youthful as it is visually, the feature list is equally contemporary with dual-channel ABS, traction control, a fully-digital instrument cluster, a silent starter, idle engine cut-off, and a USB charging port. What’s more, there’s an underseat storage provision as big as 28 litre which can gobble up a full-face helmet. There’s also a cubby hole at the front.

Instrument Cluster
The SYM MMBCU runs on a 150.8cc, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine and it tips the scales at 135kg. The pair of 13-inch alloy wheels are suspended by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking is executed through a single disc at both ends.

As interesting a product as the SYM MMBCU is, it’s equally unlikely to enter the Indian shores anytime soon. However, we have a few capable products in this segment including the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SR 160.
