Latest Update: The Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV will be launched in India on December 2.
Price: Mercedes could price the GLB from Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
Seating Capacity: Internationally, the GLB is available in both five- and seven-seater configurations.
Engine and Transmission: Globally, the GLB gets the following engine options: a 1.3-litre petrol engine (making 163PS and 250Nm), 2-litre turbo-petrol engine (224PS and 350Nm) and 2-litre turbo-diesel engine with two tuning options (150PS/320Nm and 190PS/400Nm). The smaller petrol engine is mated to a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic), while the bigger petrol and diesel units come with an eight-speed DCT . The SUV can be had in both front-wheel drive and a 4MATIC all-wheel drivetrain. It can also do 0-100kmph in 6.9 seconds.
Features: Features on board the India-spec GLB could include a seven-inch MBUX display (10.25-inch optional), seven-inch digital instrument cluster (10.25-inch optional), power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control, cruise control and over-the-air software updates.
Safety: On the safety front, it could get seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a rear-view camera.
Rivals: Mercedes-Benz GLB will lock horns with the BMW X2, Volvo XC40 and the Audi Q4.
