Mercedes-Benz GLB is a SUV which is expected to launch in India in 2nd Dec 2022 in the expected price range of ₹ 65.00 – 70.00 Lakh.

Market Introduction:

Mercedes Benz will break the covers off the all-new GLB in India on 2 December 2022.

Engine and transmission:

Globally, the GLB gets 1.3-litre petrol and two-litre turbo-petrol engines along with a two-litre turbo-diesel engine. The smaller petrol engine is mated with a seven-speed DCT, while the turbo engines get an eight-speed DCT. While their powertrains vary depending on the variants, the SUV will be available in both front-wheel drive and 4Matic drivetrains.

Exterior:

Based on the MFA 2 platform, the GLB measures 4,634mm in length, 1,834mm in width, and 1,658mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,829mm. It also gets LED headlights and taillights. The segmented tail lights at the rear make it look like the Mercedes GLS.

Interior:

Inside the GLB, you get to see a long single-piece touchscreen and instrument panel, a wireless charging pad, a 360-degree camera setup, and multi-zone temperature control. Besides this, it is also loaded with “Hey Mercedes” voice-activated commands, a panoramic sunroof, multi-coloured mood lighting, and power-adjustable front seats. It also gets an option for a five or a seven-seater.

Features:

Its list of safety feature includes seven airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, rain-sensing wipers, and TPMS.

Pricing:

Since these SUVs are CBU, meaning not assembled locally, the prices are considerably high. It is expected to be in the range of Rs 65 lakh to 70 lakh.

Rivals:

The GLB will compete against the likes of the BMW X3, Audi Q4, and Volvo XC40.
