Jeep is planning to launch new products in the Indian market in a bid to increase its sales figures. Nipun Mahajan, Head of Jeep India, told PTI, ‘We are looking at growth for next year as well. When we add a product, growth is going to happen. So, we increase the customer base, we increase the volume, and, of course, add more business to it,’ Although exact details about the expected addition to Jeep India’s product range haven’t been revealed yet.

At present, Jeep India’s line-up comprises the Compass, Meridian, Wrangler, and Grand Cherokee. Earlier this year, the Compass Trailhawk made its debut. In the near future, Jeep may launch the recently unveiled Avenger midsize SUV in India to compete with vehicles like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The compact hatchback Citroen C3 shares the same modular CMP platform as the SUV. It has a 1.2-litre petrol turbocharged engine, which produces about 100bhp. The electric model claims to have a single-charge range of about 400 kilometres.

Jeep India anticipates 20% growth; however, the specifics of the expected volumes for 2023 are under wraps. A few days ago, the locally produced Grand Cherokee made its debut at ₹77.50 lakh (ex-showroom). And just like the Grand Cherokee kept the brand in news across India for all the right reasons, updates regarding upcoming SUVs for 2023 could again create a stir among fans and enthusiasts.
