Swedish luxury automobile manufacturer Volvo Car India announced a price increase for its select models today, including the XC90, XC60, and XC40 Recharge. The firm stated that ‘rising input cost pressures’ had compelled it to make the decision. It further added, ‘continued disruption of global supply chains leading to higher logistic expenses has resulted in a rise in input costs.’

Coming to the revised prices, the XC40 Recharge’s ex-showroom pricing will increase from ₹55.9 lakh to ₹56.9 lakh. Further, the cost of the XC60 will increase to ₹66.5 lakh, and the price for the XC90 will increase to ₹96.5 lakh from ₹94.9 lakh.

The company also claimed that not all the models would see a price increase. Costs for the S90 Petrol Mild-Hybrid and the XC40 Petrol Mild-Hybrid remain unaffected. The latest price hike will take effect tomorrow, November 25, although, the buyers who booked the Volvo cars until November 24 will not have to pay the premium.

Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India, said, ‘The rising global inflation has forced us to share some of the rising input costs with our consumers. We have decided to hold the price line for all vehicles booked till today and implement the price rise on select models from 25th November 2022. The prices of S90 Petrol Mild-Hybrid and XC40 Petrol Mild-Hybrid will remain unchanged.’
