Ducati India has updated its off-road spec Scrambler model, the Desert Sled to comply with the BS6 emission norms. The updated, BS6-compliant 803cc, twin-cylinder, air-cooled engine on the Scrambler Desert Sled makes 73bhp of maximum power at 8,250rpm and 66.2Nm of peak torque at 5,750rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox that features a servo-assisted slipper function.

In terms of design, the off-road focussed Desert Sled gets a rugged styling that is emphasised by features such as a tall-set front fender, high plate holder, variable cross-section handlebar, and Pirelli SCORPION RALLY STR dual-purpose tyres. The BS6 model gets an all-new Sparking Blue livery with red and white details on the tank and mudguards along with golden rims and a classic black frame. The wire-spoke wheels feature a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear setup. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 209kg (kerb).

The equipment on the Desert Sled includes full-LED lighting and Ducati Multimedia System-ready digital instrument cluster. Apart from the standard information, the asymmetrically mounted cluster also shows the selected gear indicator. The safety net on the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled includes dual-channel Bosch Cornering ABS.

The hardware on the motorcycle comprises a tubular steel trellis frame. The suspension setup includes Kayaba-sourced, fully adjustable 46mm upside-down front forks and a pre-load and rebound adjustable Kayaba rear mono-shock. The anchoring tasks are handled by a 330mm disc with a radial four-piston calliper at the front and a 245mm disc with a single-piston floating calliper at the back.
