Honda CB1000R is expected to launch in India in June 2023 in the expected price range of ₹ 15,00,000 to ₹ 16,00,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to CB1000R are Suzuki Katana, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R & Ducati SuperSport. Another bike similar to CB1000R is Indian FTR 1200 which is launching in June 2023 in India.

The Honda CB1000R is a litre-class naked street bike which is the successor to the CB1000R Hornet previously sold in the country. It boasts of Honda’s new design language called ‘Neo Sports Café’ which was first showcased as a concept during the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. The biggest highlight of the motorcycle is its styling. It has a minimalistic look with a sculpted fuel tank, brushed aluminium radiator covers and a front fender, complete with a round LED headlamp. It also gets a single-sided swingarm which adds to its style quotient.

The previous BS4 edition of the motorcycle packed ample modern features like a quirky full-colour TFT display for the instrument console. Other features were ride-by-wire, traction control, ABS and four riding modes. Notably, all these gizmos are likely to be retained in the upcoming version, besides the possibility of it getting more features. The hardware might also be the same with fully-adjustable inverted forks for the front and a monoshock unit for the rear from Showa. For braking, there are 310mm twin-discs up front and a single 256mm disc for the rear.

Powering the outgoing version of the CB1000R is a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-pot motor rated to produce 143bhp and 104Nm with a six-speed gearbox. The BS6 model will get the same mill but with certain revisions for cleaner emissions which might marginally alter its power output.

In India, the CB1000R BS6 will compete against the Kawasaki Z1000, BMW Motorrad S 1000 R and the upcoming Ducati Streetfighter V4.
