Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has launched the Honda Shine 100 in India. It sits below the CB Shine and rivals the Hero Splendor and here is what it has to offer.
What sort of design does the Honda Shine 100 get?
The Shine 100 gets a design similar to the CB Shine 125. It features a curvy headlight and fuel tank, and a single-piece seat with a grab rail for the pillion’s convenience. The overall build is quite simple and skinny, like most commuter motorcycles in India.

Honda has powered the Shine 100 by a 100cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor with an output of 7.61bhp and 8.05Nm. It’s mated to a four-speed gearbox and nestled in a tubular frame. Not to mention, the Shine 100’s motor is OBD-2 compliant (onboard diagnostics), so it can monitor real-time emissions.

The new Shine 100 gets a halogen headlamp with bulb turn indicators. On the feature front, it gets a twin-pod instrument console with a speedometer, odometer, and fuel level readout. Honda has also equipped it with a side-stand sensor and CBS (Combined Braking System).

The Honda Shine 100 rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a front and rear drum unit mounted on alloy wheels that come wrapped in road-biased tyres.
How much does the Shine 100 cost, and who are its rivals?
Honda has priced the Shine 100 at Rs. 64,900 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra) and it’ll rival the Hero Splendor, TVS Radeon, and Bajaj Platina. Bookings for the new Shine have opened today, and deliveries will commence in May 2023. Honda is offering the Shine 100 in five paint schemes – black with red stripes, black with blue stripes, black with green stripes, black with gold stripes, and black with grey stripes.
