The South Korean automaker, Kia is gearing up for its India debut by 2020. It gave a glimpse of the expected line-up at the 14th edition of the Delhi Auto Expo which also included the Kia Rio hatchback which could be launched in India sometime next year or in 2020. Interestingly, the Kia Rio will be based on the Hyundai-Kia GB platform which also underpins its Korean cousin, Hyundai i20. Set to venture into the premium hatchback segment, the Kia Rio price in India could be placed between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.The Kia Rio 2018 sports crisp lines and smooth surfaces on the body. Up front, it features Kia’s quintessential Tiger nose grille and swooping multi-reflector halogen headlamps. Fog lamps are flank the functional air vents on the bumper. At the side, it equips scooped out doors and 15-inch alloy wheels. The Kia Rio images clearly show the upright rear which comes with a large windscreen.The Kia Rio hatchback is expected to share engines with the Hyundai i20, which implies it could get the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre units in petrol and diesel guise. While the transmission options are expected to include a manual as well as an automatic gearbox.The interior kit on the Kia Rio hatchback includes a slew of features such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity options including Apple CarPlayas well as Android Auto. Besides, expect the cabin to be spacious enough to seat occupants comfortably. In addition, the Kia Rio feature list could include cruise control, manual AC, day/night IRVM, six-way adjustable driver’s seat,etc.
