Nissan has showcased the X-Trail SUV in India alongside two other SUVs, slated to be launched after it completes its testing in the country. The X-Trail will make its comeback in its fourth generation avatar sometime around mid-2023 and will be brought in as a completely built-up unit (CBU). It gets the option of a mild-hybrid and a strong-hybrid powertrain that can send power to either the front or all four wheels, depending on the powertrain.

In markets abroad, the X-Trail gets multiple powertrain options including a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid turbo-petrol (163PS) and a strong-hybrid self charging powertrain (204PS and 213PS for AWD). In its less powerful avatar, the strong-hybrid powertrain is driven using the front wheels, while the 213PS powertrain gets an all-wheel drivetrain.
