The Ola S1, along with the S1 Pro, are the Bengaluru-based EV maker’s first electric offerings. The S1 variant is the more affordable of the two, slotting above the S1 Air, Ola’s least expensive offering. The prices for the S1 and S1 Pro battery packs have also been revealed – check them out here.

Ola S1 Price:

The Ola S1 comes in two variants: the base S1 gets a 2kWh battery and comes at a price of Rs 99,999, while the top variant gets a 3kWh battery and costs Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom Delhi). Ola S1 Features:

The S1 comes equipped with an all-LED lighting setup, a large 36-litre underseat storage, and a seven-inch touch-enabled  TFT instrument cluster. The scooter also gets smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS and Wifi connectivity. Other features include anti-theft alert, geofencing, reverse mode, Get Home mode, Take Me Home lights and Limp Home mode. It comes with multiple ride profiles, music and call control, multiple riding modes (which even changes the console layout as well as the motor sound) and Party Mode, where the scooter’s speaker plays music through your smartphone.

The MoveOS 3.0 brings features like Faux Motor Sounds, Hill Hold, and Vacation Mode to help conserve the battery over an extended period of non-usage, Proximity Unlock, Ride Moods (Bolt, Vintage and Eclipse), three modes of Ola’s second-gen regenerative braking, Hypercharging, Bluetooth calling and key sharing.

Ola S1 Powertrain:

The Ola S1 is powered by a mid-drive permanent magnet motor producing a peak power of 8.5kW and a peak torque of 58Nm (at the shaft). The base S1 gets a claimed top speed of 90kmph and a range of  91km, while the higher variant has a top speed of 95kmph and a claimed range of 141km. As mentioned already, the motor is powered by either a 2kWh (for the base variant) or a 3kWh (for the top variant) lithium-ion battery pack.

Ola S1 Suspension & Brakes:

The Ola S1’s chassis is a tubular frame, with the curved non-removable battery pack mounted on its floorboard. The suspension features a single-sided front fork and a rear monoshock mounted on a single-sided swingarm. For braking, it gets a 220mm front and a 180mm rear disc with CBS as standard. It comes with a ground clearance of 165mm, and rolls on big 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 110-section rubber at both ends. The e-scooter is slightly heavy, weighing in at 121kg, kerb.

Ola S1 Rivals:

The Ola S1 competes with the TVS iQube Electric, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida V1 and Ather 450 Plus. In a similar price range, you could consider buying the Yamaha FZ-Fi or the Bajaj Pulsar NS125.
