Latest Update: We have compared the claimed fuel efficiency figures of Maruti Fronx with those of its subcompact SUV rivals.

Launch: Maruti Fronx is expected to go on sale in April.

Price: It could be priced from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).

Variants: The crossover can be booked in five trims: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha.

Colours: Maruti offers it in three dual-tone and six monotone colours: Earthen Brown with Bluish Black roof, Opulent Red with Bluish Black roof, Splendid Silver with Bluish Black roof, Earthen Brown, Arctic White, Opulent Red, Grandeur Grey and Splendid Silver.

Seating Capacity: It has a five-seater layout.

Engine and Transmission: The Fronx is offered with two petrol engine options: a 1-litre turbo-petrol BoosterJet engine (100PS/148Nm) with mild-hybrid technology and a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol unit (90PS/113Nm) from the Baleno. The former is mated to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, while the latter offers either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT.

Features: It comes with amenities such as a nine-inch infotainment system, heads-up display, cruise control, auto climate control and wireless phone charging.

Safety: Up to six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), hill-hold assist, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX anchors and ABS with EBD ensure passenger safety.

Rivals: The Fronx does not have any direct rivals in the country yet, but it will compete with subcompact SUVs like the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and Maruti Brezza.
