Price:

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is available in a single variant with six distinctive colours at varying prices. Gravel Grey, being the cheapest offering, is priced at Rs 2,15,900. Then comes the Pine Green and Dune Brown models, both costing Rs 2,22,400. Features:

The Royal Enfield Himalayan comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster with optional Tripper navigation pod/USB charging port. The LCD inset displays a tripmeter, an odometer, gear position indicator, clock and a temperature gauge. The cluster also houses a fuel gauge and even has a digital compass besides the fuel gauge. The motorcycle comes with a switchable ABS (at the rear) and hazard lamp switch. The fuel gauge and an integrated tachometer/speedometer are both analogue units. The bike also boasts a bash plate for enhanced safety, and a rugged tail rack to mount your luggage solutions.

Engine:

Powering the motorcycle is a single-cylinder, 411cc, air/oil-cooled engine. It churns out 24.3PS and 32Nm. The engine is paired to a five-speed transmission and comes with a 15-litre fuel tank.

Suspension & Brakes:

The Himalayan is built on a half-duplex split-cradle frame, suspended on a 41mm front fork and a rear monoshock. Braking is handled by a 300mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc setup, with dual-channel ABS (switchable rear ABS). It rolls on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels, which are wrapped in dual-purpose tubed tyres. The Himalayan has a healthy 220mm of ground clearance and an accessible seat height of 800mm. But at 199kg, it is quite heavy, especially for an off-roader.

Rivals:

The Royal Enfield Himalayan goes up against the likes of the Yezdi Adventure, KTM 250 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS, and the more expensive KTM 390 Adventure. In a similar  price range, you could also look at the KTM RC 200, Honda H’ness CB350, and the Bajaj Dominar 400.
