BMW R nineT is a cafe racer bike available at a starting price of Rs. 19,02,609 in India. It is available in 2 variants and 5 colours with top variant price starting from Rs. 24,00,000. The BMW R nineT is powered by 1170cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 107.28 bhp and a torque of 116 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, BMW R nineT comes up with anti-locking braking system. This R nineT bike weighs 221 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 18 liters.

BMW Motorrad has announced the launch of the 2021 R nineT and the R nineT Scrambler in the Indian market. The range comprises of two variants – Standard and Scrambler.

The standard BMW R nineT features a classic roadster design that takes inspiration from the company’s motorsports heritage. The motorcycle gets a round headlight at the front, a twin-pod instrument cluster, a beefy fuel tank, a split-style seat, and road-biased tyres. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 221kg (kerb). The Scrambler, as the name suggests, is built to look like a scrambler. This variant also gets a large fuel tank, a split-seat setup, a numberplate-mounted tail lamp, and high-set dual-exhausts. Unlike the standard model, the Scrambler rides on alloy wheels.
The company has also introduced the R nineT 100 Years limited-edition variant of this motorcycle. This version of the R nineT series will be limited to just 1,923 units worldwide, with select units brought to India. The 100 Years edition gets a special paint theme that is combined with several chrome elements. It also gets additional components such as Option 719 Classic wheels with black anodised rim rings and Option 719 Shadow milled parts package that includes milled cylinder head covers, engine housing covers, seat holders, and an oil filler plug. Further, the Option 719 Shadow II milled parts package consists of adjustable hand levers and a footrest system, pillion footrests, expansion tank covers, and handlebar end mirrors.
The standard model is available in four colour options – Blackstorm Metallic/Brushed Aluminium, Option 719 Aluminium, Mineral White Metallic/Aurum, and Night Black Matt/Aluminium Matt. The RnineT Scrambler, too, is available in four colours – ‘Kalamatta Metallic Matt’ brown paint with the ‘23’ lettering on the tank, Cosmic Blue/White colour, red and black, and Granite Grey.

The feature list on the motorcycles comprises full LED lighting, adjustable clutch/brake levers, USB charging interface, and a newly designed semi-digital instrument cluster. The electronic rider aids include two riding modes – ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), ABS Pro, and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC).

The mechanical specifications on the 2021 BMW R nineT series include a 1,170cc, air and oil-cooled, two-cylinder, Boxer engine that makes 107.2bhp of power at 7,250rpm and 116Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox. BMW Motorrad claims 0-100kmph acceleration in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 200kmph.

The suspension setup on the standard model includes upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. The Scrambler variant uses right-side up telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. The anchoring tasks are handled by twin rotors at the front and a single disc at the back.
