Mitsubishi Outlander Latest Update

The Mitsubishi Outlander is a large crossover that thinks it’s a rugged SUV. It’s tough, built to take a beating and can even hold its own in the rough. However, the Outlander has come to India well into its life cycle, so it feels far from new. Also, a petrol-CVT model with all-wheel drive is the only variant on offer.

Mitsubishi Outlander Quick Review

Smart as it is, the Mitsubishi Outlander lacks the presence that SUV buyers in India like. There’s nothing remarkable about the interior either, with a dated dash and average material quality. The Outlander is fine on space up front but the second row isn’t the comfiest and the third row is downright cramped.
Typical buyers will rue the absence of a diesel engine option but the 167hp, 2.4-litre petrol engine does feel up to the task. Power and performance are more than adequate. What spoils the experience, though, is the 6-step CVT automatic gearbox that is not always in sync with the engine. The Outlander is nice to steer and also rides over bumps with authority. It’s quite handy off-road as well, with the all-wheel-drive system taking you further than you’d expect a soft-roader to.
