Mercedes-Benz recently removed the GLC SUV from their Indian website. The carmaker plans to launch the next-gen Mercedes-Benz GLC in Aug 2023. The next-gen model will come with a refreshed exterior and interior. The powertrain now gets a 48V mild-hybrid system with both petrol and diesel units. While the diesel unit is a 2.0 litre with 194.30 bhp, the 2.0-litre petrol is offered in two states of tune: 201 bhp and 254.47 bhp. The luxury SUV also gets plug-in hybrid options which includes two petrol engines producing up to 375.78 bhp and a diesel engine producing 326.47 bhp.
One of the defining design highlights of the Mercedes-Benz GLC is the redesigned front end, with headlamps that connect directly to the radiator grille to emphasise the vehicle’s width. It also features Digital light headlamps with additional daytime driving light ellipses and new blue trim, plus active floor lighting, are available as optional extras. Other features of the sporty appearance are the wide track and flush wheels in 18- to 20-inch size. After the S-class and C-class, the new GLC also receives the second generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz user experience) infotainment system.
Mercedes-Benz India has released first pictures of the latest iteration of its mid-size luxury SUV, the third-generation GLC, on Indian soil. The latest avatar of Mercedes’ best-selling SUV in the country is about to debut in India in the coming weeks. The images show the new GLC in wearing star-patterned camouflage. The first-generation GLC was one of Mercedes’ best-selling models not only in India but internationally as well.
As seen in the spy shots, on the outside, the GLC retains the design DNA of its predecessors. Mercedes-Benz unveiled the new-gen GLC globally in June 2022, and the SUV got a revised exterior and interior design, newer technology and hybrid powertrains. It is expected that a diesel engine, paired with a mild hybrid system (available on the previous generation model), will continue to be offered. As the launch draws closer, more information on engine options will come to light.
