Mercedes has launched the AMG GT 63 S E Performance in India priced at Rs 3.3 crore (ex-showroom). The 4-door coupe is the first performance plug-in hybrid vehicle from the carmaker and also its most powerful vehicle ever with an output of 843PS and over 1400Nm. Thanks to its plug-in hybrid powertrain, it can be driven in electric mode only but only for a maximum distance of 12km. The key-handover of the AMG GT 63 S E Performance will be done by Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 4 Door Coupe Engine
The AMG GT 63 S E Performance features a plug-in hybrid powertrain comprising a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 paired to a 204PS electric motor. The combined system output is 843PS and over 1400Nm, which is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. The electric motor is fed using a 6.1kWh battery pack, which can also be recharged using regenerative energy produced while braking. The AMG GT 63 S E Performance does 0-100kmph in 2.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 316kmph. It boasts an electric-only range of 12km.
