Mercedes-Benz has hiked the prices of the GLA by up to Rs 1.5 lakh.

Mercedes-Benz GLA Engine

The new GLA comes with three engines: a 163PS/250Nm 1.3-litre turbo-petrol, a 192PS/400Nm 2.0-litre diesel, and a 310PS/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol (exclusively for GLA AMG 35). The petrol engine comes paired with a 7-speed DCT, while the other two get an 8-speed automatic. The petrol and diesel engines drive the front wheels. However, the latter also comes with an optional all-wheel drive. The AMG GLA 35 comes with all-wheel drive as standard.

Mercedes-Benz GLA Variants

The 2021 GLA is available in four variants: GLA 200 (petrol), GLA 220D (diesel), GLA 220D 4MATIC (diesel), and AMG GLA 35 (turbo-petrol). The first two are part of the Progressive trim. The GLA 220D 4MATIC, on the other hand, is exclusive to the AMG Line trim.

Key Features of Mercedes-Benz GLA

The 2021 GLA features a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and MBUX infotainment system, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car tech with over-the-air updates, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless charging, dual-zone air conditioning, and a powered driver’s seat. Passenger safety is taken care of by seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, active brake assist, and attention assist.

The Mercedes-Benz GLA is an alternative to the BMW X1, Volvo XC40, and the Audi Q3.
