About Tata Harrier EV

Model launch date:

Tata Motors showcased the Harrier EV Concept at the Auto Expo 2023 on 11 January 2023

Variants:

Variants of the Tata Harrier EV will be confirmed closer to its market launch.

Feature list:

Like the standard Harrier, the Harrier EV will also be a five-seater. Appearance-wise, the show car at the expo had a Curvv Concept-inspired fascia. It had an illuminated Tata logo and sleeker LED headlamps. Meanwhile, lower down the bumper had an aggressive design for the bumper. In the profile there were no door handles seen on the concept. And at the back, the Harrier tail lamps received a futuristic-looking lighting signature.

The cabin of the Harrier EV Concept will see some changes in the production guise compared to the standard Harrier. This could include a newer touchscreen and digital driver’s display apart from more features and added space inside the cabin. The feature list would include a panoramic sunroof, smartphone integration, connectivity suite and some level of ADAS tech as well.

Engine, performance and specifications:

Tata hasn’t specified any technical details of the Harrier EV yet. But they have stated that the electric SUV will be based on the Gen2 architecture and will have an AWD configuration. The details around the battery pack and power output haven’t been divulged yet. For the AWD setup, it is most likely to receive a two-motor layout – one for each axle. And the Gen2 architecture would allow for a larger battery size and power out.

Safety:

The Harrier EV is not tested for the GNCAP rating yet.

Competition:

When it will arrive, the production-ready Harrier EV will be the only one in its segment to offer an electric alternative.

It might be a bigger alternative to the likes of MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. Tata Motors is expected to aggressively price the Harrier EV when it goes on sale.
