Hero Karizma XMR Latest Update

Hero MotoCorp has launched the all-new Karizma XMR at Rs 1,82,900 (ex-showroom) and its introductory price of Rs 1,72,900 makes it even cheaper than the Yamaha R15 V4. Check out the story here. Also, check out the new motorcycle in 10 detailed images here. Wondering about the differences between the new and the old Hero Honda Kar.

The new Karizma XMR is the flagship Hero bike featuring many firsts. It is the successor to the OG icon, the Hero Karizma that helped in rejuvenating the leisure biking segment in India, at an affordable price point.

Price:

The Hero Karizma XMR is priced at Rs 1,82,900 and also gets an introductory price tag of Rs 1,72,900 (all ex-showroom India). It is available in three colour options: Iconic Yellow, Matte Phantom Black and Turbo Red. Bookings are open for a refundable token of Rs 3,000.

Features:

The all-new Karizma XMR gets an LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It also gets an illuminated, premium-looking switchgear. The headlight setup consists of dual LED projector headlights surrounded by H-shaped LED DRLs. Dual-channel ABS (a first for a production Hero bike) comes as standard on the motorcycle. And oh, it also gets an adjustable windshield, which is a first in the segment. The raised clip-on handlebars should make the bike comfortable enough for touring.

Engine:

Powering Hero’s new flagship motorcycle is an all-new 210cc, DOHC, 4-valve liquid-cooled (which is a first for a Hero bike), single-cylinder engine producing 25.5PS at 9,250rpm and 20.4Nm at 7,250rpm. This makes the bike more powerful than the KTM RC 200 and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200! It comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper and assist clutch.

Suspension & Brakes

Suspension duties are taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and a gas-charged 6-step preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Considering the hero Xtreme 160R 4V now gets a USD fork, this feature is a big miss on the Karizma XMR, though.

Braking duties are taken care of by a 300mm front (with an axial caliper) and 230mm rear disc brakes (both petal discs. The Karizma XMR has a steel trellis frame (the first Hero bike to get one) and a box-section swingarm. The wheelbase stands at 1,351mm, seat height at 810mm, ground clearance at 160mm and gets a kerb weight of 163.5kg. The fuel tank capacity is 11 litres.

Rivals:

The all-new Hero Karizma XMR will rival the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, with the KTM RC 200 being a sportier alternative.
