Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Car Latest Updates

The Toyota Hyryder SUV’s hybrid variants have received a price hike, ending the introductory price period for the compact SUV. The Hydryder strong-hybrid is Rs 50,000 more expensive across the S, G and V variants.

In addition, Toyota has launched the Hyryder CNG in India starting at Rs 13.23 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). The factory-fitted CNG is offered in the mid-spec trim levels, S and G, powered by the standard-spec 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

In other news, 4,026 units of the Toyota Hyryder have been recalled after an issue was suspected in the rear seat belt mounting brackets. If faulty, the affected part could become loose in the long run and eventually fail in the event of an accident. Dealerships will undertake the responsibility of contacting the owners and replacing the defective part free of cost. We advise the owners to get the part replaced as soon as possible, given that it is a safety issue.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Engine

The Urban Cruiser Hyrder gets two 1.5-litre petrol powertrain options with mild-hybrid and self-charging strong hybrid. The latter has an output of 92PS/122Nm through the ICE unit and 80PS/141Nm from the electric motor which is geared using an e-CVT setup. The mild-hybrid powertrain produces 102PS/135Nm, available with both two-wheel and all-wheel drivetrains with the choice of a 5-speed manual and automatic torque converter (front-wheel drive only).

The SUV is available in four trims: E, S, G, and V. The strong-hybrid powertrains are offered with the S, G, and V trim.

Its safety kit comprises six airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system and hill-hold assist.
