Latest Update: Customers will have to wait for up to two months to get the Maruti Baleno this September. In related news, the Maruti Baleno is being offered with benefits of up to Rs 45,000 this month.

Price: Maruti Baleno is priced between Rs 6.61 lakh and Rs 9.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Variants: Maruti offers it in four broad variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha.

Colours: The Baleno comes in six monotone colours: Nexa Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red, Luxe Beige, and Pearl Midnight Black.

Boot Space: It has a boot space of 318 litres, which reduces to 55 litres in the CNG variants.

Engine and Transmission: The Baleno is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine (90PS/113Nm) paired with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. In CNG mode, the same unit churns out 77.49PS and 98.5Nm and is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission. Idle-start/stop technology is also added to the engine, replacing the previously existing mild-hybrid technology.

Here are the claimed fuel efficiency figures:

  • 1.2-litre MT: 22.35kmpl
  • 1.2-litre AMT: 22.94kmpl
  • 1.2-litre MT CNG: 30.61km/kg

Features: Baleno’s features list comprises a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an Arkamys sound system, a heads-up display, and cruise control. It also gets auto AC, push-button start/stop, and keyless entry.

Safety: On the safety front, it gets up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), hill-hold assist, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, ISOFIX anchorages, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

Rivals: The Maruti Baleno is a rival to the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Citroen C3 and Toyota Glanza.
