Mahindra has taken the wraps off its Global Pik Up concept pickup truck, which is based on the Scorpio N SUV. This particular model gets beefy styling touches and gets the carmaker’s next-generation 2.2-litre diesel engine. Mahindra says it’ll focus on bringing this model to the ASEAN, Australian, South African, Indian, and South and Central American markets.

So yes, we won’t discount on an India launch just yet. If it comes here, we suspect pricing to be around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the Isuzu V-Cross and will be an affordable alternative to Toyota Hilux.

Scorpio N automatic price starts from Rs. 16.63 Lakh and is available in 10 options. Scorpio N comes in 30 variants with 7 colour options.

Features of Mahindra Scorpio N

The Scorpio N packs a built-in Alexa support, an 8-inch touchscreen, a 12 speaker Sony 3D surround sound system, cruise control, wireless charging, electric sunroof and dual-zone climate control. On the safety front, it gets equipment like up to six airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill-hold assist, and ESC.

The 2.2-litre diesel unit in the lower variants makes 132PS/300Nm, while in the higher trims gives an output of 175PS/(370Nm and 400Nm). The 2-litre turbo-petrol has an output of 200PS/(370Nm and 380Nm). All units are equipped with a 6-speed manual as standard, while an optional 6-speed automatic transmission is offered with the more powerful diesel and turbo-petrol mills. The SUV is driven using the rear wheels as standard, however, there’s an optional 4WD system available with the 175PS diesel mill. The SUV is 4662mm long, 1917mm wide, and 1870mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2750mm.
