The Honda Dio is a very iconic scooter and one that made a name for itself by appealing to a more younger set of customers, at a time when scooters were seen as something that’s mostly used by the older generation. Over the years the Dio did carve out a niche and found its calling with the college going demographic.

After its first launch in 2012, Honda has brought in some much needed updates with new features with the launch of the BS6.2 iteration of the Dio along with an all new Smart variant.

Honda Dio Price:

The  Standard version of the Honda Dio is now priced at Rs 68,352 while the OBD2-compliant model is priced at Rs 70,211. The Deluxe variant’s non OBD2-compliant model retails at Rs 72,626 while the OBD2-compliant model retails at Rs 74,212. The youthful Sports edition will set you back by Rs 68,852 for the standard and Rs 74,353 for the deluxe variant. The range-topping Dio H-Smart costs Rs 77,712. All prices ex-showroom Delhi.

Honda Dio Features:

When it comes to features the Dio gets many of the same features we have seen on the Honda Activa 6G like a silent starter, tumble flow and friction reduction technology. Additionally, the scooter gets an external fuel filler cap and side-stand indicator with engine cut-off function and a front pocket for extra storage. Honda has also introduced a redesigned, fully digital instrument cluster which now shows real-time and average mileage apart from the regular trove of information. The H-Smart variant gets several keyless features, just like the one on the Activa 6G H-Smart, the details of which can be found here.

Honda Dio Engine:

The Dio comes with the same engine as the Honda Activa 6G, but gets a slightly different tune. Its 109.51cc air-cooled, BS6.2-compliant motor makes 7.76PS at 8000rpm and 9Nm at 4750rpm. The Dio H-Smart gets the same engine and is OBD2 and BS6.2 compliant.

Honda Dio Suspension & Brakes:

The scooter comes with bigger 12-inch steel wheel up front and a standard telescopic fork. At the rear, it employs a 10-inch rear wheel along with a three-step preload-adjustable monoshock. When it comes to braking the scooter has 130mm drum brakes set up with CBS. Both the Sports edition and the H-Smart variant comes with Alloy wheels as standard.

Honda Dio Rivals:

The Honda Dio primarily competes against the Hero Xoom 110. Other rivals include the TVS Scooty Zest 110, TVS Scooty Pep+ and Hero Pleasure Plus. For the same price as the Dio, you can also get the Hero Splendor Plus and Honda Activa 6G.
