The muscular Mahindra Thar 2020 is ready to become bold and massive. The next-gen Mahindra Thar already got spotted being tested for the first time in India. The looks suggest that the car seems longer as well as wider than the prior model.
The Mahindra Thar Facelift will be based on the latest ladder-frame chassis which is developed in coordination by Ssangyong and Mahindra. It will still retain the appearance of the classic Jeep CJ5 which came into existence from the 1960s. However, we can expect a canopy, much longer wheelbase and wider wheel arches on the facelift. The 2020 Mahindra Thar facelift will be featuring an all-new diesel engine which will comply with the BS VI emission norms. Currently, Thar is powered by a 2.5-L CRDe engine, which puts out a max power of 107 PS and 247 Nm of max torque, and DI diesel engine, which puts out a max power of 63 PS and a peak torque of 195 Nm, but the current version of Mahindra Thar doesn’t meet BS VI emission norms. Having said that, not much information is available at the moment regarding the engine specs of the facelift. Initiated by the year 2010, the Thar at present is in its last phase. It got its mid-life modification in the year 2015 with some interior and cosmetic upgradation. Designed in retro style and being a capable 4X4 off-roader, the Thar carries forwards its distinctiveness in the automotive industry. We can expect the 2020 Mahindra Thar Facelift features to include an anti-lock braking system, airbags, hill assist in the next-gen Thar 2020 for proving its off-roading prowess.
