Hyundai Creta Latest Updates

A Hyundai Creta test mule has been spied with a battery pack, indicating that it could be a test bed for the carmaker’s mass-market EV that’s expected to arrive by 2025.

The facelifted Hyundai Creta is not coming to India in 2023, but will arrive in 2024. The 2024 Creta will get different styling elements than the SUV sold in select overseas markets.

Creta Engine

The Hyundai Creta comes with two engine choices: a 115PS/144Nm 1.5-litre NA petrol engine and 115PS/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, but you can get the base NA petrol engine with an iMT clutchless manual or iVT continuously variable (CVT) automatic transmission. The diesel engine gets the option of a 6-speed torque converter as well. Both the powertrains are compliant with the upcoming RDE norms.

Creta Variants

The 2022 Hyundai Creta has eight trim levels including Knight Editions. You can get the base petrol engine with a manual gearbox in the E, EX, S, S+ Knight Edition, SX Executive and SX variants. The iMT is available in a single S trim level, and the iVT can be had in SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Knight Edition variants.

The diesel-powered Creta is offered with a manual transmission in E, EX, S, S+ Knight Edition, SX Executive, SX and SX(O) trim levels. The diesel-automatic combination is available in the top-spec SX(O) and SX(O) Knight Edition trim levels only.

As for the turbo petrol engine, it’s offered in the S+ and SX(O) trim levels. The Creta Knight Edition doesn’t get this engine option.

Creta Features

The 2022 Hyundai Creta hasn’t changed in appearance, and it still features LED headlights, DRLs and taillamps. It is offered with multiple 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheel options in the higher-spec variants. Inside, it gets premium features such as ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, climate control, cruise control, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a Bose sound system and a semi-digital instrument cluster. The top-spec SX(O) variants feature a gloss-black centre console. It also gets Hyundai’s BlueLink suite of connected car features.

Creta Competitors

The 2022 Hyundai Creta rivals the MG Astor, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV700, and the Skoda Kushaq.
