Market Introduction:

The Tata Harrier has long been due for an update, with all of its rivals getting their facelift versions. The test mule of the updated Harrier was spied testing on numerous occasions. Now, the SUV is expected to be launched in a new avatar with features like ADAS and many more. The automaker could launch the facelift version at the Auto Expo 2023.

Exterior:

As seen in the test mule images, the new Harrier facelift will get a redesigned grille featuring vertical slats, a revised bumper, and tweaked LED DRLs. Further, the SUV will get a fresh set of alloy wheels, while most of the styling elements on the side profile will be retained from the current model. The rear section, meanwhile, will be highlighted by tweaked taillights.

Interior: 

As for the interior, the updated Tata Harrier is expected to offer revised upholstery and a new dashboard layout. The SUV will likely get a new instrument cluster, latest touchscreen infotainment system, and a 360-degree camera. Depending on the variant, the SUV will also offer a sunroof.

Safety and features:

In terms of safety, the new Harrier will offer six airbags, ABS with EBD, BA, ESP, hill hold control, and speed-sensing door locks. The vehicle is also expected to get an ADAS suite.

Engine and transmission:

Mechanically, the updated Harrier is likely to be powered by the existing 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine. The SUV will be available in both manual and automatic transmission options. Although there is no AWD version, the Harrier does come with a special ESP system with selectable modes for different conditions – normal, wet, and rough.

Seating Capacity:

The Tata Harrier will have a seating layout to accommodate five occupants.

Rivals:

The rivals of the Tata Harrier in the SUV segment include the MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, and the Kia Seltos.
