Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been running on Indian roads for about a decade. Since it is built on a lightweight and rigid chassis, it provides better performance in terms of fuel efficiency. This MPV is offered with petrol and CNG fuel compatibility through separate variants.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Engine and Other Specifications

This car comes with a BS6, 1462cc, K15 Smart hybrid petrol, and K15B CNG engine depending upon the variant’s fuel compatibility. The engine has four inline cylinders with four valves per cylinder fitted on DOHC (dual overhead camshaft). The petrol engine generates maximum power of 102bhp at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 136.8Nm at 4400 rpm, and the CNG engine gives an output of 87bhp at 5500 rpm and 121.5Nm at 4200 rpm.

The Ertiga car has a five-speed manual transmission (automatic transmission in the top model) with MacPherson Strut and coil in the front suspension and a Torsion beam & coil spring in the rear. It has disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. The ARAI claimed mileage of the Ertiga-CNG is 26.11km/kg, and 20.3 km/l for the petrol variant. Based on the mileage numbers, it has a driving range of 914 km on a full tank of petrol where the fuel tank capacity is 45-litres.

This MPV has been sculpted with a chrome winged front grille, trunk door garnish with chrome accents, machined dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels with 185mm tubeless radial tyres, 3D origami-style LED tail lamps, and electrically adjustable outer rear view mirror with turn-on indicators. Apart from these, the Ertiga-new-model has adjustable halogen projector headlights, fog lights in the front, a roof-mounted power antenna, and chrome-plated door handles. The rear window wiper, washer, and defogger are also a few inclusion of this vehicle to keep the rear view clear.

The plush dual-toned interiors of this car boast fabric upholstery, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with a tilt column, an eight-way adjustable driver seat, a six-way manually adjustable front passenger seat, an air conditioner with automatic climate control, second row roof mounted AC, a vanity mirror for front seat occupants, a visor for front seat occupants, power windows, air-cooled twin cup holders, 17.78cm SmartPlay Pro with the connectivity of android auto and apple car play. Apart from these, it has an integrated music system, USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, FM radio, digital instrument cluster, digital clock, and a tachometer.

The Ertiga features encompass quad airbags, hill-hold technology to keep the vehicle stable during accelerating after brake release at hilly terrains, and ABS (Antilock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) to prevent the vehicle from skidding. This car has been built on ‘HEARTECT’ platform which shares with other Maruti Suzuki cars, such as the Baleno, XL6, Celerio, and Swift, to name a few. The vehicle has secured a three-star safety rating, awarded by the Global NCAP. Apart from these, it is also loaded with child seat anchor points, seat belt warning trait, door ajar warning trait, brake assist, an electronic stability program, child safety lock, central locking, rear seat belts, and speed sensing door lock.
