TVS Apache RTR 160 is the most affordable Apache motorcycle in India. TVS gave the Apache RTR 160 2V a comprehensive update in 2022, where the streetfighter got more power, better tech and tyres. Here’s what’s different between the updated RTR 160 and its predecessor.

Price:

The RTR 160 2V is priced at Rs 1,19,320 for the base (rear drum) variant, while the rear disc variant will cost you Rs 1,22,820. The top variant (with SmartXonnect) comes at a price of Rs 1,26,120 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle is offered in five colour schemes (Pearl White, Gloss Black, Racing Red, Matte Blue & T Grey).

Features: 

Apache RTR 160 2V boasts a fully digital instrument cluster and comes with three riding modes (Sport, Urban and Rain). Through Bluetooth/SmartXonnect, the top variant gets a segment-first voice assist feature, Call/SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation and a plethora of other information. 

RTR 160 2V also gets the Glide Through Traffic feature, which comes in handy on traffic-ridden roads. To keep prices in check, the bike comes with single-channel ABS. It also gets an LED headlight/taillight with LED DRLs but the turn signals retain halogen bulbs.

Engine: 

Powering the RTR 160 2V is a single-cylinder, 159.7cc, air-cooled engine which produces 16.04PS and 13.85Nm. It comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox. 

Suspension & Brakes:

The RTR 160 2V gets a double cradle frame which is suspended on a telescopic front fork with a rear monoshock. Braking is handled by a 270mm petal disc (front) and 130mm drum/230mm petal disc (rear). The bike rolls on 90-section front and 120-section rear tyres manufactured by TVS themselves. Single-channel ABS comes as standard on all models.

Apache RTR 160 2V targets the Bajaj Pulsar N160, Pulsar 150, Yamaha FZ V3, and Honda XBlade. In a similar price bracket, you could consider buying the Bajaj Avenger Street 160, Aprilia SR160, or the Bajaj Pulsar P150.
