Maruti FRONX Car Latest Updates

Maruti has launched the CNG variants of the Fronx with prices starting from Rs 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in the Sigma and Delta trims and borrows the same powertrain as the Baleno’s CNG variants. The more fuel-efficient variants of the sub-4m SUV carry a premium of Rs 95,000 over the variants that they are based on.

Maruti FRONX Engine

With the Fronx, Suzuki’s 1-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine has made a comeback, but this time it’s assisted by the Maruti’s mild-hybrid tech. It churns out 100PS and 148Nm, and comes mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the crossover is also offered with 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally aspirated petrol engine which makes 89PS and 113Nm, and can be had with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. Its CNG powertrain makes use of the same 1.2-litre petrol engine (77.5PS/98.5Nm) from the Baleno CNG and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The CNG Fronx has a fuel efficiency of 28.51km/kg. While, Maruti claims a fuel efficiency of 21.79kmpl for 1.2-litre MT, 22.89kmpl for 1.2-litre AMT, 21.5kmpl for 1.0-litre MT and 20.1kmpl for 1.0-litre AT. The Fronx is 3,995mm long, 1,765mm wide, and has a height of 1,550mm. The crossover SUV comes with a wheelbase of 2,520mm and offers a boot space of 308-litres.

Maruti FRONX Variants

It gets five trim options: Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha.

There are six monotone colour options: Nexa Blue, Grandeur Grey, Arctic White, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver.

Apart from these, you get three dual tone options: Earthern Brown and Bluish Black, Opulent Red and Bluish Black, Splendid Silver and Bluish Black.

Key Features of Maruti FRONX

The Fronx comes with a nine-inch touchscreen system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic AC, rear AC vents, wireless phone charging and a 360-degree camera. Standard set of safety features include dual front airbags, hill hold assist, electronic stability program, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and three-point seatbelts for all five passengers. The higher-end variants gain up to six airbags, auto dimming IRVM, and a 360-degree camera.

The Maruti Fronx rivals the likes of the Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and the Renault Kiger.
