The Ola S1 and the S1 Pro are the first e-scooters from the Bengaluru-based company. They are among the best-selling premium electric scooters in India, rivalling the likes of EVs like the Ather Energy 450X and TVS iQube.

Ola S1 Engine

The Ola S1 is powered by a mid-mounted, IPM electric motor that makes 5.5kW of nominal power and 8.5kW peak power. The EV has a claimed top speed of 95kmph, according to the manufacturer. Its 3kWh battery pack takes around 5.5 hours to fully charge and offers an ARAI certified range of 141km and 128km true range (in Eco mode). The EV is built on a tubular frame, which is suspended on a single-arm telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock. Braking is handled by 220mm (front) and 180mm (rear) discs, with CBS as standard. The Ola S1 rolls on 12 inch alloy wheels, which are shod with 110-section tubeless tyres. It has a kerb weight of 121kg, along with 792mm seat height and 165mm ground clearance.

Ola S1 Charging Time

Ola S1 Design

The Ola S1 comes with a modern, European design with smooth and flowing lines rather than an aggressive look. It comes with some unique elements like a single-arm telescopic fork, and LED headlight surrounded by an LED DRL. Even the LED turn indicators have been neatly integrated into its bodywork. The e-scooter gets a floorboard-mounted battery pack, which allows for a spacious underseat storage, the largest on any two wheeler being sold in the market.

Key Features of Ola S1

Ola S1 comes loaded with features like an all-LED illumination, a massive 36-litre underseat storage, touch-enabled TFT instrument console that gets Bluetooth support along with WiFi and GPS connectivity using a smartphone. The S1 gets three ride modes: Eco, Normal and Sport. The console UI is user customisable by using custom widgets and lite versions of certain mobile apps. Other notable features include side-stand down and anti-theft alert, along with geofencing, reverse mode, Get Home mode, Take Me Home lights, and a Limp Home mode. With the MoveOS 3.0 update this e-scooter gets added features like faux motor sounds, hill hold, vacation mode (which helps conserve the battery over extended periods of no usage), proximity unlock, ride moods (Bolt, Vintage and Eclipse), three levels of regenerative braking, Bluetooth calling and key sharing.
