Price:

The XPulse 200 4V is offered in two variants: Rs 1,43,516 for the standard (Base) variant and Rs 1,50,891 for the Pro variant (both ex-showroom Delhi). The Base variant is offered in three colours: Matte Nexus Blue, Techno Blue and Black Sports Red, while the flagship Pro variant comes with a standard paint scheme, with Rally Edition on its body panels.

Features:

The BS6.2-compliant version features a new LED projector headlight that’s claimed to be 230% more intense. The bike comes with an updated USB port relocated to the instrument cluster, revised switchgear, and updated instrument cluster that shows real-time mileage as well as ABS modes. The console also gets  Bluetooth connectivity via Hero Connect app that helps access several features, like tow alert, accident alert, last parked location and geo-fencing, along with a malfunction notification that has been introduced with the OBS-2 update. The Pro variant of this bike trim comes with handlebar risers, an extended gear lever, long side-stand and longer-travel adjustable suspension units at both ends, along with Rally Edition body graphics, giving a more sporty appeal. Other notable features on both variants include a 60mm taller windshield, and fuller, closed-loop hand guards. The rider’s footpegs are 35mm lower and 8mm more rear-set, and are claimed to offer better comfort while off-roading.

Engine:

The XPulse 200 4V is powered by a 200cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 19.1PS and 17.35Nm. It makes use of a 5-speed transmission. The motor is not only BS6.2-compliant but is also E20 compatible, meaning it can run on fuel that’s 80 percent petrol and 20 percent ethanol. The bike has a 13 litre fuel tank capacity.

Suspension & Brakes:

The Base XPulse comes with a 37mm telescopic fork with 190mm travel and a 10-step-preload-adjustable rear monoshock with 170mm wheel travel. The Pro variant’s front suspension is fully adjustable and offers 250mm travel, while its rear suspension offers 220mm wheel travel. The braking is handled via 276mm disc up front and 220mm disc at the rear, with standard single-channel ABS. Its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels come wrapped in 90-section and 120-section, dual-purpose tubeless tyres, respectively.

Rivals:

The XPulse 200 4V doesn’t have any natural rivals as the next most affordable adventure bike that you can get is either the Royal Enfield Himalayan or the Suzuki V-Strom SX, both of which cost significantly more than the humble XPulse. For the same price, however, you can also consider buying a TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
