Kia Sonet Car Latest Updates

Kia has launched the Sonet Aurochs Edition at Rs 11.85 lakh. It is based on the mid-spec HTX trim and comes with turbo-petrol or diesel powertrain options. This edition comes with orange inserts which can be found on the grille, bumper, door and wheel hub caps, while the interior also gets splashes of orange. It commands a premium of Rs 40,000 over the HTX trim.

Kia Sonet Engine

The Sonet shares its power units with the Venue: an 83PS 1.2-litre petrol, a 120PS 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 116PS/250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT (with the 1-litre turbo-petrol). The 1.2-litre petrol is available with a 5-speed manual, while the diesel mill gets the option of either a 6-speed AT or an iMT (new). The Sonet is 3955mm long, 1790mm wide, and is 1642mm tall. The wheelbase is 2500mm and its boot capacity is good for 392 litres.

Kia Sonet Variants

Kia offers the Sonet in a total of seven variants within the Tech Line and GT Line trims: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X Line. It is also available in an Anniversary Edition based on the HTX trim. The Tech Line takes a more elegant approach to its design while the GT Line adds a dose of sportiness with several red inserts and GT Line badging inside and out.

The SUV comes in six monotone (Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Intelligency Blue, Gravity Grey, Steel Silver, and Glacier White Pearl) and two dual tone (Intense Red / Aurora Black Pearl roof and Glacier White Pearl / Aurora Black Pearl roof). It also gets a segment-first Matte Graphite hue, exclusive to the X Line trim.

Key Features of Kia Sonet

Kia has packed the compact SUV with a host of features including a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech,LED sound mood lighting, a 7-speaker Bose sound system, cruise control, and a coloured multi-info display. Other bits include a sunroof, ventilated front seats, automatic headlamps and keyless entry with push-button start. On the safety front, it features six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with a rearview camera, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Kia Sonet Competitors

The Kia Sonet is a rival to the Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Honda WR-V, Mahindra XUV300 and the Renault Kiger. Its X Line derivative will lock horns with the Hyundai Venue N Line.
