Honda Dio Bike Latest Updates

Honda has launched the updated Dio. It gets some sporty bits at a tiny price hike. Check it out here.

Honda Dio Engine

The Dio is powered by an OBD 2-compliant 109.51cc, single-cylinder motor replacing the previous gen’s carbureted engine. Power is down, torque is up, and the new motor pumps out 7.76PS at 8000rpm and 9Nm of peak torque at 4750 rpm — 0.16PS less 0.09Nm more than the BS4 model. It is silently brought to life by an ACG starter. For the first time, the Dio now features a telescopic fork up front as well as a 12-inch wheel. At the rear, you continue to get a 10-inch wheel suspended by a monoshock. Wheelbase has gone up by 22mm which should aid straight-line stability.

Honda Dio Variants

The Honda Dio has been priced at Rs 70,211 for the standard variant and at Rs 74,212 for the Deluxe trim, both of which are Rs 1,586 more than before. The new top-of-the-line Smart variant, meanwhile, will cost you Rs 77,712 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The Deluxe buys you digital instrumentation, an LED headlight and contrasting wheels which are absent on the Standard trim. The Smart variant will get you all the keyless features, more about which you can read below.

Honda Dio Design

The scooter sports similar design language as before with sharply creased body panels and a large apron-mounted headlight. There are minor changes, though, and the scooter now looks sharper and smarter than before. The new colour options also give the scooter a fresh lease of life, and the contrast between the colours of the body panels and the wheels works well.

Key Features of Honda Dio

Honda has thrown in a host of new features on the Dio. The most significant of the lot are fully-digital instrumentation and an external fuel-filler. It retains its LED headlight but now also gets an engine kill switch, side-stand cut-off and extra storage pockets on the front apron. In its latest iteration, it gets a bunch of new keyless features, more about which you can read in our launch story.

Honda Dio Competitors

The Dio competes with scooters like the Hero Pleasure Plus, Hero Maestro Edge 110 and TVS Jupiter 110.
