TVS Raider Bike Latest Updates

TVS launched a new ‘base variant’ of the Raider that comes with a single-piece seat setup.

The TVS Raider is the Hosur-based manufacturer’s comeback into the 125cc motorcycle segment. It falls under the premium spectrum and comes with several segment-first features.

TVS Raider Engine

The TVS Raider is powered by a single-cylinder 124.8cc engine that is air-cooled and has an oil cooler. It churns out 11.38PS and 11.2Nm and works in conjunction with a 5-speed gearbox. The bike’s chassis is suspended on a telescopic front fork and a 5-step preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is looked after using 240mm disc/130mm drum at the front and a 130mm drum unit at the rear, with standard CBS. The bikes roll on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 80-section (front) and 100-section (rear) tubeless tyres.

TVS Raider Variants

The TVS Raider comes in three variants: Single Seat, Split Seat and SX. The single seat variant comes in a single ‘Striking Red’ colour, with the split seat variant getting four shades (Fiery Yellow, Blazing Blue, Striking Red & Wicked Black). The top-end SX variant, however, comes in just two paint schemes (Fiery Yellow & Wicked Black). The only difference between the base and the mid-spec variants is the seat type, whereas the top-end version comes with a TFT console that gets smartphone connectivity….Read More

TVS Raider Design

The LED face on the TVS Raider looks quite familiar, almost instantly reminding you of Bumblebee, and the bike is in line with a sporty naked design language. The fuel tank is large and comes with sharp extensions. The side panels are edgy and along with split-seats, add to the sporty looks of the motorcycle. The bike also comes in a single-piece seat variant, giving the bike a slightly commuter-ish appeal. The rear design, however, is a bit unappealing, with the tail section looking slightly out of place. Overall, the TVS Raider looks quite premium and sporty for a 125cc product.

Key Features of TVS Raider

The TVS Raider comes with LED headlight and tail lamp but uses halogens for the turn signals. The single-piece and mid-spec split-seat variants come with a negative LCD console that displays the standard bits such as speedometer, tachometer, trip meter and a fuel gauge. It also has a low fuel prompt, gear position indicator, a clock and even a fuel efficiency indicator with the bike also getting switchable ride modes. The top-spec SmartXonnect variant boasts a 5-inch colour TFT console that has Bluetooth connectivity (using a smartphone) to offer turn-by-turn navigation, weather updates, music control, call/SMS alerts, voice assist, nearby fuel pump locations, cricket updates and even social media updates.
