The Honda CB650R is the Japanese brand’s flagship naked in India. In its latest iteration, the gorgeous inline-four streetfighter got a new USD fork, preload-adjustable monoshock, new USB charger & more.

The Honda CB650R is priced at Rs 9,15,427 (ex-showroom) and is sold at Honda Big Wing dealerships, available in two colours: Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red. 

Honda CB650R Features

In its latest guise, the CB650R gets a revised instrument console, smaller side panels, and a USB Type-C socket for added convenience. It also gets a retro LED headlight, tail light and LED turn indicators. Its fully digital instrument console features a display with two tripmeters and information such as fuel gauge and average fuel consumption, a clock, and gear position and shift indicator.

Electronic rider aids include switchable Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and a slip and assist clutch. Other notable features include Honda’s ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) technology which automatically activates the hazard lights in case of sudden braking, and an Ignition Security System (HISS), Honda’s lingo for an anti-theft system.

Honda CB650R Engine

While it uses the same 649cc liquid-cooled inline-four mill as the CBR650R, it’s been detuned to make 87PS at 12000rpm and 57.5Nm at 8500rpm. It also weighs 3.5kg more than the international model, giving it a lower power-to-weight ratio. The motor works in tandem with a 6-speed transmission.

In terms of hardware, the CB650R features a 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston USD fork and a pro-link monoshock. Its braking setup consists of twin discs paired with Nissin radial calipers up front and a single disc at the rear. 

Honda CB650R Rivals

In terms of competition, the CB650R takes on the Triumph Trident 660, Aprilia Tuono 660 and Kawasaki Z650. It will also rival the upcoming Benda LFS 700.
