BMW iX1 Car Latest Updates

BMW India has launched the iX1 electric SUV with prices starting from Rs 66.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the carmaker’s most affordable electric offering, and fourth after the i4, iX and i7. The car is based on its ICE counterpart, the X1 SUV, and is offered with a 66.4kWh gross battery pack paired to two electric motors delivering 313PS and 494Nm.

BMW iX1 Engine

The iX1 is equipped with dual electric motors, delivering 313PS/494Nm to the all four wheels. It has a WLTP-claimed range of up to 440km. As for the charging, it takes 6.3 hours to charge the battery with a standard 11kW charger, while a 130kW DC fast charger takes 29 minutes to charge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent. The iX1 measures 4500mm in length, 1845mm in width, and 1616mm in height. Wheelbase is 2692mm.

Key Features of BMW iX1

The iX1 is packed with features, including an integrated 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.7-inch infotainment system running on BMW’s latest iDrive 8 operating system. It also offers a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, Harman Kardon sound system, and front seats that are electrically adjustable, featuring memory and massage functions. Safety features include ABS with Brake Assist, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX mounting for child seats, and advanced driver assistance systems.

BMW iX1 Competitors

The electric SUV will be a direct rival to the Volvo XC40 Recharge, while being an alternative to the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
