During the 2020 Auto Expo, Hero Electric revealed its first electric motorcycle concept, the AE-47. Hero Electric has been an electric scooter manufacturer since 2007, but this will be their first electric motorcycle. The concept bike has a compact design and features neo-retro aesthetics with a round headlight and a streetfighter-style body.

The electric bike will come with several features like a fully-digital instrument cluster along with a USB charger, cruise control, two ride modes, walk and reverse assist, geo-fencing, GPS, SIM, Bluetooth connectivity, and app support.

The Hero Electric AE-47 is equipped with a 4kW electric hub motor, and the company claims that the motorcycle can reach 0-60kmph in 9 seconds with a maximum speed of 85 kmph. The bike features a removable 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack, providing a range of 165 km in Eco mode and 85 km in Power mode. According to the brand, the battery can be fully charged in four hours. The motorcycle features an inverted telescopic fork, a monoshock and disc brakes on both ends.

The AE-47 is expected to be officially launched in the fourth quarter of 2023 and is likely to be priced around Rs 1.5 lakh to 1.7 lakh mark. Once launched, it will compete against the Revolt RV400 electric motorcycle.
