TVS Jupiter 125 Latest Update

The TVS Jupiter 125 marks a significant addition to the Hosur-based company’s lineup, catering to the needs of family-oriented riders in the 125cc scooter segment. While the TVS NTorq 125 appeals to a sportier, younger audience, the Jupiter 125 distinguishes itself with its notable features.

Price:

The TVS Jupiter 125 kicks off at a price point of Rs 83,855 for the base variant, equipped with steel wheels and a front drum brake. Opting for the variant with alloy wheels and drum brakes brings the price to Rs 86,405, while the top-tier variant, featuring a front disc brake and alloy wheels, is available at Rs 90,655 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The base variant offers a choice of two colours: Titanium Grey and Pristine White, while the mid-spec variant with front drum brake and alloy wheels comes in Dawn Orange, Indiblue, Titanium Grey, and Pristine White. The top-end disc variant is presented in three appealing colours: Dawn Orange, Indiblue, and Titanium Grey.

Features:

The TVS Jupiter 125 boasts an array of features, including LED DRLs, an LED headlight, and taillight. Its semi-digital instrument cluster provides real-time and average mileage, distance to empty, triple trip meters, odometer, clock, low voltage indicator, helmet reminder, and a fuel gauge. The scooter also incorporates a silent starter and stop-start system for enhanced fuel efficiency in heavy traffic. TVS claims that the generous 33-liter under-seat storage can comfortably accommodate two ISI-certified helmets. Additionally, an apron-mounted two-litre cubby hole with an integrated charging port and a retractable hook are available. Notably, the fuel tank cap is situated on the apron, a segment-first feature that simplifies refuelling.

Engine:

Under the hood, the TVS Jupiter 125 relies on a newly developed 124.8cc single-cylinder two-valve engine, generating 8.3PS at 6000 rpm and 10.5Nm at 4500rpm. In comparison, the 110cc TVS Jupiter produces 7.47PS and 8.4Nm, while the TVS NTorq 125 delivers 9.38PS and 10.5Nm.

Suspension And Brakes:

The Jupiter 125 adopts a new chassis, supported by a telescopic front fork and a three-step preload-adjustable gas-charged rear monoshock. It rides on 12-inch wheels equipped with 90-section tyres at both ends. Braking capabilities are provided by front and rear 130mm drum brakes, with the option of a 220mm front disc brake on the top variant, featuring a combined braking system as standard. With a weight of 109kg, the 125cc scooter is slightly heftier than its 110cc counterpart.

Rivals:

The TVS Jupiter 125 enters into competition with the country’s best-selling 125cc scooter, the Suzuki Access 125, as well as its sibling, the Burgman Street 125. Other contenders in the segment include the Honda Activa 125, Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi, and the Hero Destini 125. For a similar price range, prospective buyers might also consider the TVS NTorq 125 or the Hero Maestro Edge 125.
