Latest Update: The Tata Safari facelift has been launched and we now have the full prices of the SUV. Here’s how its prices fare against its rivals. We have explained the differences between the 2023 Tata Safari Dark edition and the previously available Red Dark edition of the SUV. The facelifted Safari has scored a 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP crash test.

Price: It is priced from Rs 16.19 lakh to Rs 27.34 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom Delhi).

Variants: Tata offers it in four broad variants: Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished.

Colours: The facelifted Safari is available in 7 colour options: Cosmic Gold, Galactic Sapphire, Stardust Ash, Stellar Frost, Oberon Black, Supernova Copper, and Lunar Slate.

Seating Capacity: Tata offers it in both 6- and 7-seater layouts.

Boot Space: The Tata Safari facelift offers a boot space of 420 litres when all three rows are being used. The third row seats can also be tumbled into a 50:50 split ratio for an increased boot space of 827 litres.

Engine and Transmission: The updated SUV uses the same 2-litre diesel engine which makes 170PS and 350Nm as before. The unit is mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Here’s the claimed fuel efficiency of the Safari facelift:

Features: The 2023 Tata Safari boasts amenities like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10-speaker JBL sound system, and wireless phone charger. 

It also gets gesture-enabled powered tailgate, multi-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic AC, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear (only in 6-seater version) seats, air purifier, 6-way powered driver’s seat with memory and welcome function, and 4-way powered co-driver’s seat with electric boss mode.

Safety: It gets up to 7 airbags (6 airbags as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features which now also includes adaptive cruise control.

Rivals: The facelifted Safari competes with the MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700.
