2022 BMW G 310 GS: What else can you buy?

BMW Motorrad recently updated its portfolio by launching the 2022 G 310 GS. As a part of the model year update, the bike has received new colour options and a price hike of Rs 5,000. The G 310 GS now costs Rs 3.10 lakh and if you’re wondering what alternatives the market has to offer around a similar price range, here’s the list.

KTM 390 Adventure: Rs 3.28 lakh

The closest rival to the G 310 GS, the KTM 390 Adventure, is Rs 18,000 more expensive but offers a lot more in terms of equipment. The 2022 model gets three modes of traction control – Street, Off-road, and Off. It also gets a bi-directional quick shifter and multiple modes for ABS. Powering the bike is a 373cc, liquid-cooled engine that makes 42.3bhp and 37Nm.

KTM 390 Duke: Rs 2.94 lakh

Another offering from KTM’s stable is the 390 Duke which is more expensive than the G 310 GS. However, it gets the same potent engine as the 390 Adventure, a similar feature list, and a premium set of hardware. However, being a naked street bike, it delivers a sportier riding experience with road tyres, sharper handling dynamics, and a more committed riding posture.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: Rs 2.89-3.15 lakh

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is the most affordable motorcycle with a parallel twin-cylinder engine in India. And it’s a gem of a mill with oodles of torque and refinement. This 648cc, air/oil-cooled motor produces 47bhp and 52Nm of peak torque. As for the rest of the hardware, everything is quite basic with spoke wheels, a conventional suspension setup, and a tubular double cradle frame. Even the features list is nothing to write home about.

Keeway Vieste 300: Rs 3.20 lakh

If you’re on the lookout for a premium maxi-scooter, the Hungarian brand Keeway has the Vieste 300. Besides the distinctive sporty design, it gets a few notable elements like 13-inch wheels, a large 12-litre fuel tank, and a keyless ignition system. Even the 278cc engine is quite impressive with a liquid-cooling and power and torque output figures of 18.4bhp and 22Nm, respectively.
