Suzuki Intruder 150 production ends after over 4 years in India

Over four years after being introduced in India, Suzuki has pulled the plug on the Intruder 150 in India. The motorcycle was primarily introduced to take on the popular Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise. Suzuki has stated that the model had been witnessing plummeting sales since early 2021. This was despite the motorcycle being priced Rs 10,000 lower than the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220.

It is worth noting that its streetfighter sibling, the Gixxer 155 has been garnering healthy numbers despite being priced Rs 6,000 higher than the Intruder. The Intruder shares its powertrain with the Suzuki Gixxer. Both the motorcycles get a 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit. Suzuki’s shift to BS-VI resulted in a slight drop in its power figures – as compared to the BS-IV model – which now stand at 13.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 13.8Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Now, the company has patented the Intruder 250 in India, but given the fate of the 150, it’s possible that the former may not make it to India.
